The Question of the Day was: Have you ever rolled up a hill? Apparently, half of the class is capable of rolling uphill. What an amazing sight that would be if they all did this at one time on a big hill! Morning Work was a continuation of yesterday's egg observations. The boys and girls wrote what they saw during the candling and drew a diagram of what they saw in the egg.
We read Miss Rumphius this morning. The boys and girls learned some new vocabulary words from the book, including nautical and geographic terms. In the story, Miss Rumphius sets out to do three things in her life: travel to faraway places, live by the sea, and one more thing. Ask your child what this last thing was and how Miss Rumphius accomplished it!
Both recess times were spent indoors today. Inner Explorer focused on practicing what to do when angry thoughts don't want to float away like a cloud. The first graders took their Chapter 5 math test, but they will get more time to work on it tomorrow if that is needed. Specials classes of the day were ASL and Library.
Gavin, Mila, and Zaan turned the egg in the incubator. Everyone wrote about the Day 7 developments in the egg. We read the book The Most Wonderful Egg in the World and worked on a chicken life cycle project.
Our first Circesteem class will take place tomorrow!
Parents, please check home folders tonight for the Taste of Australia permission slip.
