Social Studies
Bonjour! Guten Tag! Konnichiwa! Hola! Hujambo! Hello!
The students in Room 104 will participate in an exciting yearlong exploration of the continents of the world. They will learn about the similarities and differences of people and places around the world through various activities, such as:
Beginning in November, we will focus on one of the seven continents each month. The culminating activity will be a celebration of the food representative of the particular continent being studied. This will lead up to a grand Taste of the World at the end of the year.
To make this social studies experience even more meaningful, any parents who have traveled to, or lived in, another country are invited be guest speakers. Firsthand accounts of other countries make unfamiliar places easier to understand.
