Wow! It was quite a year in first grade! Today was the last day of the school year and we kept busy until the very last minute!
First, the students each received a manila envelope to open at home. It contains the final report card of the year, several certificates, a suggested summer reading list, and other notes to read at your leisure. The boys and girls also received an end of the year goody bag and some books to enjoy over the break
In addition to the items mentioned above, the students also did a bit of shopping and came away with some other items to take home. Enjoy the fabulous treasures your child chose! He/she also walked his/her paper person out the door at the end of the day.
The first graders created welcome pictures for the incoming first graders to receive when they arrive in Room 104 in September. We also figured out all the matches on the Then and Now Posters, took photos with Stella Dino, and finished reading The Little Prince.
Before saying our good-byes, everyone shared their plans for the summer and we reread the very first book we read together on the first day of school: Morris Goes to School.
Thank you for all your support at home this year. I know your children will be successful in second grade--and beyond!
