The Question of the Day was: Will more butterflies emerge today? They did! The boys and girls were excited to see many painted lady butterflies in the habitat this morning. Morning work was a reading passage about monarch butterflies. Later in the day, the first graders spent time making observations about the appearance and behaviors of the painted lady butterflies in our classroom. They also completed the writing portion of a butterfly project. The project began with the following: If I Were a Beautiful Butterfly ... Ask your child for details about all the butterfly news.
Specials classes of the day were ASL and P.E. The other big event of the day was watching the Eighth Grade Graduation Video. Each year, a team of volunteers compiles photos and videos depicting each of the eighth graders from their arrival at Bell in Kindergarten or first grade to their final year. They also film the graduates saying their good-byes to Bell. Just think, in seven years, the current first graders will be stars of the movie!
Animal and human guests from Wagner Farm will visit us tomorrow!
