We had a busy second day of school!
Here are some of the things we did today:
*worked on our morning routine, what we do before and when we enter the classroom every morning
*flipped our attendance cards over
*received items to keep in our pencil cases (small rulers, extra pencils, an eraser, a pencil sharpener, an eraser, a highlighter, a glue stick, and a pair of scissors)
*used the aforementioned glue sticks and scissors to complete our Hopes for the School Year project
*received student planners (with binder clips to help us stay on the correct page)
*earned stickers for writing information in our student planners
*answered the Question of the Day (Do you have any brothers or sisters?)
*discussed behavior expectations for the classroom, hallway, and stairs
*did a better job of lining up in AL / MZ lines and bagger / ticketer lines.
*learned about items on the whiteboard, the front of the room, and the busser/walker graph
*designed name magnets to use on the busser/walker graph each day
*colored the name magnets using crayons from our supply bins (see photos below)
*worked together to solve a mysterious message left on our board (Ask your child what COEWMEL turned out to be!)
*met Ms. Wojcik and attended our first library class
*checked out books from the school library (due back next Wednesday)
*began sharing the postcards and brochures mailed this summer
*used the world and national maps to learn about places in our country
*received Map Champ Atlas books that will be used in class throughout the year
*interviewed our fifth grade buddies
Parents, thank you for checking and signing your child's student planner page yesterday. Please note that I may only quickly glance at the previous day's pages in the assignment notebooks. If you would like a response back from me about something, please write it on a separate sheet of paper rather than on the assignment notebook page.
Tomorrow is another P.E. day. Be sure your child is wearing gym shoes. Red or white shirts are considered the P.E. uniform.
