The Questions of the Day were: Would you like to have a twin? Mila and Zaan, do you like having a twin? :)
We had three math sessions today. During the first, the boys and girls used their problem solving and addition/subtraction skills to solve arithmagon puzzles. Later, they worked on measuring length using inch measurements. Finally, they were introduced to the Fibonacci Sequence. We looked at the first five numbers in the sequence and tried to figure out what would come next. Once we figured out the pattern, we read the books Swirl by Swirl: Spirals in Nature and Wild Fibonacci: Nature's Secret Code Revealed.. We will keep adding to the sequence each day. This is what we have so far: 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89.
Specials classes of the day were ASL and P.E. The boys and girls also spent time reading each other's autobiographies and exploring the butterfly/insect area. In the afternoon, we took a look at the butterfly chrysalides and saw how they were moved to their new habitat. Lastly, we rehearsed on the stage with the second and third graders in preparation for the financial literacy assembly. We hope to see you at 2:15 tomorrow!
