The Question of the Day was: Were you a bucket filler yesterday? Morning work involved reading an article about lupines and then answering questions about it.
We then read the Russian folktale My Mother is the Most Beautiful Woman in the World. This led to the creation of three special items for each student's own beautiful mother. Today's Inner Explorer practice focused on compassion and acts of kindness.
We continued working with money in math. The students ordered coins in a collection before finding their value. However, we spent the most time on problem solving strategies with story problems. It was important to slow down, read the problems carefully, and work them out step by step.
During science, we wrote the Day 16 notes in our egg books. The students also created a chicken life cycle project. The students needed extra time for this activity, so they kept working on it after music class. We'll try harder to stay on task tomorrow so that we don't miss any lessons planned for the day!
Tomorrow is the Steppin' Dance Party! We are currently at 35% of our classroom fundraising goal. If you have not already done so, please send in your donations. THANK YOU!
