Happy Monday! Today's fun fact was about football so the question of the day was: Do you like football? After taking care of morning business, the boys and girls continued working on their field trip book chapter about our trip to see A Christmas Carol.
This week's spelling list contains words with the long o patterns of ow, oa, and o. We identified synonyms and used alliteration when studying the words.
We read Chapter 4 in Flat Stanley. Ask your child how Stanley helped capture the art museum thieves! This week's must-do assignment from the homework packet relates to Flat Stanley. We will mail him next week!
The boys and girls participated in a fun art project today. They followed the directions in a directed drawing exercise to create reindeer faces. The paper people in the hallway have now been transformed into reindeer children!
The specials class of the day were music and Civics. During the latter, the students learned how to choose a good leader. In handwriting, we practiced the D'Nealian letters h and k. Finally, the students generated a list of events that took place in November. They will use these ideas to write the November page of their memory books.
We will return to the computer lab to work on the shapes PowerPoint projects tomorrow!
Parents, please make a note of the following special events:
Wed. 12/11: Scholastic Book Fair
Thurs 12/12: Pajama Day in 104
Fri 12/13: Holiday Market
Fri 12/20: Taste of South America
