Dear Friends,
I think Miss Rumphius is a wonderful book. The flowers in the photo above are lupines, just like Miss Rumphius planted. Miss Rumphius set out to do three big things in her life. Do you remember what they were?
The mystery item from yesterday's Question of the Day is the cocoon of an evergreen bagworm moth. I could tell it was a cocoon when I found it, but I did not know what kind it was. I looked in some books and used the Seek app by iNaturalist to identify the species. You can find out more about bagworm moths at this site.
The Day 8 chicken embryo is shown below. Look closely to see the beak and the digits on its wings/feet. The embryo is still very small inside the egg. This picture shows it enlarged in an egg-shaped background. We will conduct another egg investigation today!
Love,
Ms. Kaim
Question of the Day Would you rather be a penguin or a chicken? Why? Comment below!

Other Activities for the Day
- Tell someone a joke! Try this one:
A: Because it was the chicken's day off!
- Begin learning about penguins! Watch the video first. Then, complete the Nesting Time Lift and Look project about penguins. You will need another paper for the background as well as the emperor penguin from the penguin egg paper. SEND TO MS KAIM.
