Dear Friends,
Happy Monday! May the 4th be with you! It was a lovely weekend, wasn't it? Did you spend some time outside? I certainly did!
We are moving on to some new topics in our learning today. In social studies, we will begin learning about Antarctica, our new continent of the month. In math, we will begin a chapter that focuses on money and time. In reading, your activities this week will be in response to the lovely book Miss Rumphius.
In science, we will continue learning about chicken embryology, but each day will reveal new developments. By the seventh day of incubation, the chick embryo became male or female, the egg tooth began to form, and the digits on the legs and wings became visible. If you look at the photos below, you should be able to spot the embryo's big black eyes!
I am excited to get the week started with you. Let's make it another great one!
Love,
Ms. Kaim

Your morning work this week will focus on the book Miss Rumphius written and illustrated by Barbara Cooney.
- Today, watch and listen to Ms. Kaim read the book. Pay attention to what is happening at the beginning, middle, and end of the story.
- After that, learn more about lupine flowers by completing this reading passage worksheet. SEND THIS TO MS KAIM.
