Happy Wednesday! The Question of the Day was: Have you ever helped your community? Morning Work was a spelling practice paper. After this, we had Mail Call and enjoyed more of Flat Stanley's adventures. The specials classes of the day were financial literacy and art.
We also participated in another live streaming event. Our virtual field trip took us to the Montana Natural History to learn the differences between millipedes and centipedes. We met Milton the Millipede and Cerces the Centipede. Ask your child for details about their legs and what/how they eat!
During math, we practiced recording 2-digit addition using the standard algorithm. We also tried another method to get the same results. Ask your child why both ways work!
1
38 38
+ 47 + 47
8 5 1 5 (ones: 8+7 = 15)
+ 70 (tens: 30 +40 = 70)

In science, we began another investigation with earth materials. Today, each student received a clump of clay in a vial. After the addition, of water, the shaking of the vials commenced. Ask your child what happened. We will check the vials on Friday to see if there are any changes.
Finally, we read the book You Forgot Your Skirt, Amelia Bloomer.
We will return to Lifeline Theatre to see another play tomorrow. Students should bring their lunches to eat in the classroom after we return.
