Dear Friends,
I hope you had a wonderful SEL Day yesterday! We also had two virtual field trips to the East Coast this week. There may not be tidal pools or sea turtles in Chicago, but there are still many amazing nature discoveries to make here. We all share the same world so let's take care of ourselves, each other, and all living things.
Enjoy the long weekend. I wonder if our painted lady butterflies will still be caterpillars on Tuesday! I know someone who will be watching them closely for you.
Love,
Ms. Kaim
Question of the Day: Have you seen any butterflies yet this year? If so, what did they look like and where did you see them? Comment below!
Morning Work
- Take the Unit 31 Spelling Test today. Use lined paper. Your parent may pick the super bonus word! Send this to Ms. Kaim.
- Work at your own pace in your Phonics workbook. Start where you left off last week. Send the last page you do today to Ms. Kaim. I did not receive last week's phonics page from some of you. Please send that page to me today, too. Thank you!
Other Activities for the Day
- Tell someone a joke!
A: A brrr-d!
- Learn more about Antarctica by reading this eBook. You do not have to read the entire book. Check the Table of Contents for a section that interests you the most. As you turn the pages to get there, stop to look at the photos and read their captions. I learned a lot about discovering Antarctica by reading Chapter 3.
