Morning Message
Dear Friends,
Isn't it amazing that the crawling caterpillars we are observing will one day become experts at flying? Many animals are experts at soaring through the air, but people need a little help to fly from one place to another.
The first successful airplane was invented by Orville and Wilbur Wright and flown in 1903. Amelia Earhart was another famous early aviator. On this day in 1932, she became the first woman to fly across the Atlantic Ocean by herself! You can read more about Amelia Earhart by reading this National Geographic Kids article or watching this read-aloud video from author Brad Meltzer. Maybe you would like to experiment with flight by making different paper airplanes!
Love,
Ms. Kaim
