Dear Friends,
We have almost reached the end of the 21 day incubation period for a chicken egg. On Day 18, the embryo tucks its beak under its right wing to get ready for hatching. On Day 19, the yolk sac begins to enter the embryo's body. The embryo takes up all the space in the egg except the air cell. By Day 20, the yolk sac has completely drawn into the body. The embryo officially becomes a chick when it starts breathing the air in the air cell. The chick begins to vocalize inside the egg! Isn't that amazing?
Love,
Ms. Kaim
