Juniper and her family are taking care of Crabby and Shelly during the school closure. The hermit crabs have demanded their turn to have a day that is all about them! Today is their day.
Crabby and Shelly are usually Undercover somewhere in their habitat. They like to be under the bridge or under the tunnel. However, just before the school closure, Crabby decided to do something different. He moved into a new shell!
Love,
Ms. Kaim
Question of the Day: You have been spending a lot of time in your own habitat/home since the school closure started on March 17. What has been your favorite spot lately?
Morning Work:
- We read Eric Carle's A House for Hermit Crab at the beginning of the school year. Now, listen to the book Is This a House for Hermit Crab?
- Draw a picture of a hermit crab. Color it. Cut it out. Take it to different spots around your home. Ask it, "Is this a house for you, hermit crab?" Have your hermit crab answer yes or no and explain why it is or is not a good home.
- Send in your pictures!
Bonus Items for the Day:
- Tell someone a joke. I think Crabby and Shelly would laugh at this one!
A: Long time no sea!
- Read about a forty year old hermit crab.
- Take some advice from a hermit crab (but let's hold off on going to the beach for now).
