- Read the book The Firekeeper’s Son by Linda Sue Parks. The link will take you to a read-aloud video.
- This story takes place in Korea long ago. It is told from the point of view of a boy who finds himself torn between responsibility and adventure.
- What would you have done if you had been in Sang-hee’s place?
- Read the book again.
- This time, listen/look for examples of similes in the story.
- For example: What in the story is “like a dragon with many humps?”
