Happy Thursday! The Question of the Day was: Do you like art projects? The boys and girls completed a final Flat Stanley activity sheet for morning work. We then moved on to writing. The first graders generated some fantastic sentences to include in their first grade memory books. They worked diligently to write the ones they selected to be their top memories of December.
The boys and girls also had some holiday fun today. They decorated wreaths to take home and also began watching The Muppet Christmas Carol. The specials class of the day was P.E.
The social studies lesson of the day focused on the Galapagos Islands. This included reading the book We're Sailing to the Galapagos. Ask your child to tell you how the islands formed and to describe some of the animals found on them!
Finally, Ms. Whiting returned to the class to help us harvest the compost in our worm bin. The worms have been busy! The boys and girls also added new bedding for the worms and received "Every Day is Earth Day" booklets about worm bin composting. Perhaps you'd like to try it at home!
We will watch a holiday assembly, play games with each other, and enjoy Taste of South America tomorrow!
