Happy Valentine's Day! The Question of the Day was: Will you spread LOVE today? Morning work included addition practice. After the morning meeting, the first graders took the Unit 18 spelling test. The super bonus word was possible. The specials classes of the day were ASL and STEAM. The boys and girls created some beautiful heart sculptures with Ms. Aldrin.
Zada shared her Student of the Week board. We learned that she is excited about visiting Paris, her favorite animal is the panda, and she likes reading the book The Wind in the Willows.
After indoor recess, we finished reading Esio Trot. Ask your child what happened to Mr. Hoppy, Mrs. Silver, and Alfie! The students then did their best to solve Valentine's Day themed word star puzzles.
There were other Valentine's Day activities that took place throughout the day including a quick craft, Valentine Bingo, and passing out cards to each other. We also read The Secret Life of Squirrels: A Love Story, The Day it Rained Hearts and Slugs in Love.
Enjoy the long weekend!
