Happy Friday! The Question of the Day was: Have you ever been to a Talent Show? Morning Work was a mystery picture paper which followed a mini-lesson on coordinate graphs. After this, it was time for the Unit 14 Spelling Test. The super bonus word was spaceship.
Marina shared her Student of the Week board. We learned that she would like to be a teacher, she has been on a cruise, and one of her talents is solving Rubik's Cubes and Pyramids.
During math, the students practiced their place value skills with a Roll It, Make It, Expand It activity. Your child should have a three-digit and 4-digit version in his/her home folder. We also cleaned out folders, worked in our field trip books, added items to our research logs, and organized our desks. Be sure to go through the home folders this weekend. You will find a copy of A New Coat for Anna to read together and then return to school.
The main event of the day was the Bell School Talent Show. We cheered for Zada, Catherine, and Grace D who were in the opening dance number. We cheered again for Grace D. who sang a solo on stage. There were 20 amazing acts in all. Ask your child what his/her favorite act was. Maybe you can come back to school tonight for the evening show!
Enjoy the long weekend. In honor of Martin Luther King find ways for your family to spread kindness and love in your community!
