The Fun Fact for the day was: Barack Obama was the 44th President of the United States. The Question of the Day was: Do you ever worry? The reason for the latter became clear in the afternoon when we learned about Guatemala in social studies. The boys and girls listened to The Legend of the Trouble Dolls and then created their own worry dolls to take home.
The first graders took the Unit 9 spelling test. The super bonus word was encourage. During social studies/writing, the class finished their totem pole models and wrote their totem pole stories. In math, they used place value to describe the value of digits in 2-digit numbers. Specials classes of the day were ASL, Art, and Computer. During computer, we began working on the shapes PowerPoint project.
Please check backpack mail for the permission slip for the Taste of North America taking place on Tuesday, November 26.
