THappy Snowy Thursday! The Question of the Day was: Would you like to be in a book club? The first graders completed antonym matching and math facts papers for morning work. After this, they created a colorful picture filled with hearts. Each child drew a part that become part of the whole picture.
The main event of the day was of course taking a trip to Lifeline Theatre to see Bunny's Book Club. Ask your child for details! When we returned to school. we ate lunch, wrote in our planners, and chilled out with books for some time. Following this, the boys and girls wrote reviews of the play which were added to their fantastic field trip books. Ask your child which character in the play he/she would most like to be friends with!
The first graders ended the day by making models of, and acting out, the birth of a volcano. Many students chose to bring home their copies of Hill of Fire to act out Mt. Paricutin's formation again at home.
We will celebrate Valentine's Day tomorrow!
