Happy Friday! Morning work was a skip counting maze. After this, the first graders took the Unit 30 Spelling Test. The super bonus word was the word inappropriate.
Joey shared his Student of the Week board. We learned that his favorite animal is the megalodon, his dream is to be a soccer player who scores lots of goals, and he has great photographic evidence of the teeth he has lost.
We returned to the computer lab to finish the life history timeline projects. The slideshow views have been printed and will be sent home next week. The big banner view will be printed soon.
Following recess, we practiced gratitude during Inner Explorer. The math lesson of the day focused on representing money amounts less than one dollar using different combinations of coins.
Arnav and Alexandra turned the eggs today. We read the book Three Hens and a Peacock and wrote the Day 17 developments in our egg books. This was followed up be a hatching penguin chick craft.
Finally, it was time for the Steppin' Dance Party. First and fifth graders danced (and ran) around the gym. It was quite the high-energy and high-volume celebration! When it was over, this teacher was more than happy to pass along her students to the STEAM teacher to finish up their day.
